“But we are strong, each in our purpose, and we are all more strong together.” Van Helsing in Bram Stoker’s Dracula
A quote from Dracula isn’t a usual start for a Christmas post. But when I read the sentence last night, it seemed perfect. For the next few days, I will be highlighting 12 books that, in different ways, disrupt complementarian theology. Each book is strong enough in its own purpose. Taken together, they are “more strong”—strong enough to end Christian patriarchy.
As a bonus, you will also catch some sneak peeks of my forthcoming book Becoming the Pastor’s Wife, as several books on the list proved instrumental in my argument. It is coming, y’all, and I can’t wait for you to have it.

I won’t post every day but will get through the series before Christmas Eve—so stay tuned! The posts will be short enough to keep you attention but long enough to emphasize why I think each book matters. Also, I will scatter in some Christmas history (including about the 12 days of Christmas), and one long overdue post highlighting the end of Andrew Bartlett and Terran William’s series on Mike Winger.
I hope you enjoy and maybe find a book or two for your Christmas wish list.
Also, for those of you wondering why I am reading Dracula (which I am)—I’ll let you know soon because it is all connected.
Happy December!

Eager to see this series. Just preordered your book. There was a gigantic copy of systematic theology by Wayne grudem at my family gathering yesterday. Two of my nephews were passing it back and forth. I wasn’t prepared for that particular situation
Just ordered 5 so I can share them while I wear your great Tshirt! Thanks for that visible incentive. 🤗
